Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic tests on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring various medical conditions. You will work in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment, utilizing advanced laboratory equipment and technologies.

- Bachelor's degree in Science
- Current NYS license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT), Medical Technologist (MT) or Histotechnologist (HTL).
- 1+ years grossing experience preferred.
- Responsible for the accurate gross description, dissection and processing of all biopsies, routine and moderate complexity tissue specimens according to established protocols under the direct supervision of the Pathologist and/or Pathology Supervisor. Participates in limited technical activities of the Pathology department when needed, such as accessioning, staining, cover slipping, routine maintenance and cytology specimen preparation.
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct diagnostic tests on blood, tissue, and body fluid samples in areas such as hematology, microbiology, immunology, and clinical chemistry.
- Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all tools are calibrated and functioning properly.
- Adhere to strict quality control procedures and laboratory safety standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate test results.
- Document and manage patient data, ensuring confidentiality and proper record-keeping.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve any discrepancies in test results.
- Stay updated with advancements in laboratory techniques and equipment.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
- Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist (e.g., ASCP, AMT, or equivalent).
- Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong understanding of laboratory protocols and quality control procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
